Fairhill Computer Learning Center

Learn the world of computers with state-of-the-art IBM compatible computers using Microsoft Windows XP. Each class consists of eight people, all seniors. The two-hour weekly classes run for 4 or 8 weeks and are taught by experienced senior volunteer instructors. Individual assistance is also provided by volunteer coaches. The cost of each session includes the registration fee, instruction materials and the use of the computer lab throughout the semester for individual practice time.

The Fairhill Computer Learning Center provides instructions in use of computers to persons age 50 and better. Class size is limited to eight persons. Each participant operates an individual computer.

Classes are taught by experienced instructors at a pace that accommodates older students. Coaches are present in class to provide individual assistance as needed.

The courses consist of 4 or 8 sessions, each two hours in length. All classes take place from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M. or from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. and one evening class from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Monday thru Thursday. Text materials are provided. Students are entitled to use the learning center outside of class for supplementary individual study and practice.

The Learning Center uses state-of the-art Dell computers with large 17-inch flat screens for excellent visibility.

The fee for the basic 8-week course is $60.00 per person, or $40.00 for the 4-week course, payable before the first session. This fee includes the text materials and practice sessions outside of class. Limited scholarship assistance is available if required.
